Halloween 2011

Here is a recently finished paint project that I thought was appropriate to post
today.  This is a full scale bust of the actor Griffin Dunne as the character
Jack Goodman from the movie An American Werewolf in London.  It was
sculpted by Howard S. Studios.  The bust is hollow resin with glass eyes
added.

Usually I like more of the classic horror/monster movies of the 1920's-1940's,
but American Werewolf was one of the few modern movies that I did enjoy.
There was a good combination of horror and comedy-  in addition the movie
had a great soundtrack.

A Couple of Projects from the Archives

Here are a couple of past paint/build-up projects.  The first is a 1/3 scale resin bust of the
actor Ian McShane from the series Deadwood-  this was sculpted by Andy Bergholtz.  I
painted this in 2006 and added the base with the logo sign.  The Historical Miniature
Magazine #56 2006 featured this on the cover.

The second project is a 1/6 scale figure of Elvira sculpted by John Wright of Vision Models.
This was painted in 2007-   I did some re-sculpting of the hands and the painting was a
challenge because the figure & base are all one piece.
