Bomber Belle Part 1- Sculpt

Here is a recently finished project.   In this part I am showing some work in progress photos
of the sculpture.  This is another World War II pin-up type figure, along the same lines as
the Rosie the Riveter figure.  This is also a tribute to the U.S. Army Air Corps-  in addition
to some uniform elements & equipment, the figure is sitting on a small scale version of a
1000 lb. aerial bomb.

The sculpture is approximately 1/8 scale.  In addition to the aluminum armature wire, the
materials used included-  sculpey, epoxy putty, styrene, misc. plastic parts & wood for the
base.

Paint- Wonder Woman

Here is a project that I finished recently.  It is a resin kit that was originally sculpted by
Roberto von Behr from Brazil.  The figure is 1/6 scale, about 13" tall (including the base).
The paints used were mostly acrylics, but some enamels & lacquers were also used.
Bare metal foil was used for the metallic parts.

Rosie the Riveter

This is a recent project that I both sculpted and painted.  It is based (somewhat) on the
image of Rosie the Riveter from World War II.  Taking elements from both Norman
Rockwell's painting & the "We Can Do It!" poster-  then creating more of a pin-up
version of the character.  I was provided with the base & some of the scenic elements-
beam, tool box & 55 gal. drum.  The figure, gloves, lunch box & rivet gun are all my
sculpting.  This is a resin cast of my original sculpt.  It is approximately 1/8 scale & is
about 8.75 in. tall-  with a base of 5x7 in.  Materials used included-  sculpey, epoxy
putty & styrene.  The air line for the rivet gun is actually a length of insulated wire with
a small hex nut & a short piece of brass tubing for a connector.

This was a commission project for KitKong's Model Mansion & a limited number of resin
kits are available.

Paint- Andrea Miniatures Montezuma

This was a commission project that was completed a little while back.  It is a metal
figure from Andrea Miniatures in 1/32 scale (approximately 2 1/8" tall or 54mm).
Much smaller than I am usually used to working with and it was definitely a challenge.
The figure is painted mostly in acrylics, but enamels were used for some of the metallics.

 

Cowgirl Pin-up Work in Progress

Here is a current sculpture that I have been working on.  This is 1/6 scale & it is made
from sculpey, epoxy putty, wax, styrene, etc.  Eventually when completed, the figure
will be molded, cast in resin & painted (plans are to offer a figure kit also).

Little Batgirl

This figure was recently finished.  It is painted resin in approximately 1/18 scale to go
along with the 1/18 scale 1960's diecast Batmobile that was released not too long ago.
The original sculpture was made from sculpey, epoxy putty, wax, styrene & wire.
